Deontay Wilder, known as the “Bronze Bomber,” is making a calculated return to the heavyweight scene with a well-structured comeback plan. Following his June 2025 victory over Tyrrell Herndon, the former WBC heavyweight champion announced that he will take 1–2 tune-up fights before stepping back into title contention.
With new head trainer Don House in his corner, Wilder aims for mega-fights in 2026 against top names such as Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk. There are even rumors of a potential “double header” with Joshua — one fight in London and another in Las Vegas — with the possibility of a trilogy depending on results.
The 2025 stage of his plan focuses on lower-risk bouts, potentially outside the United States, to rebuild his form, timing, and confidence. Wilder’s goal is clear: to reclaim his place at the top of the heavyweight division and wear the world championship belt once again.
